Our Care
Care designed around each person
At Wraysbury House we offer three types of care, each delivered with the same commitment to dignity, warmth and genuine attention to the individual. Whatever the level of support your loved one needs, the starting point is always the same: getting to know the person first.
Residential Care
Day-to-day personal care for people who no longer manage comfortably at home.

Support for people living with dementia.

Short stays on either residential or dementia care, for a carer's break, or simply to try the home first.

We run a home, not a hospital
Good care is not about routines and rotas. It is about knowing how somebody likes their tea, which light they need left on at night, and what they did for a living long before they came to us. Those are the details that make a day feel like their own.
Every resident has a care plan built around them. We review, we adapt, and we keep families closely involved at every step. The result is care that feels less like a service and more like family.
Training & Qualifications
A team trained to do this well
Dementia training

Our staff are first-aid trained and DBS checked, with safeguarding embedded in everything we do.
CQC standards
We meet the standards set by the Care Quality Commission, and our Good rating reflects that across all five domains.

Questions families ask us about care
The things we get asked most when a family is first looking into care. If your question isn't here, just call the team.
How do I know which type of care my relative needs?
You do not need to work that out on your own. Our team will carry out an assessment and talk you through whether residential, dementia or respite care is the right fit. If we are not the right home, we will tell you honestly.
Can I visit before making any decision?
Absolutely, and we encourage it. You are welcome to visit Wraysbury House, look around every part of the home and meet the team. There is never any pressure or obligation.
How quickly can a room be arranged?
It depends on availability and your relative's needs. A pre-admission assessment takes place first, and the team will talk you through what is possible, so please call us.
Can my relative bring their own belongings?
Yes. Every room is a private space that belongs to its resident. We encourage photographs, ornaments and personal belongings, so the room feels like home.
When can I visit?
We have three visiting sessions a day: 10.30am to 12.30pm, 2.30pm to 4.30pm, 6.30pm to 8pm. They are set around mealtimes so the dining room stays calm and unhurried for residents. If those times genuinely do not work for you, ring us and we will do our best, especially if you are travelling a long way.
What are the mealtimes?
Breakfast runs from 8am to 11am, lunch 12.30pm to 2pm, and supper 4.30pm to 6pm. Breakfast in particular is a long window on purpose: nobody is woken up to eat at a set hour.
Which GP practice covers the home?
Our residents are registered with Worthing Medical Group. They hold a ward round here every week, so anything we are concerned about gets in front of a doctor within days rather than waiting until it becomes urgent, and they visit the home in between when someone needs to be seen.
Can my relative bring a pet?
Often, yes, but we cannot promise it in advance. It depends on the pet, on the room, and on the other people living here, so we will always talk it through and risk assess it with you first rather than say yes and then have to go back on it. Visiting dogs are a different matter: they are always welcome.
Is Wraysbury House regulated and inspected?
Yes. Wraysbury House is registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. At our last inspection we were rated Good, and Good in all five of the areas the regulator assesses: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. That report was published in October 2022, and we would rather give you the date than let you assume it was last year. The full report is on the CQC website and we would encourage you to read it.
Not sure which type of care is right?
Call us or book a visit. We'll talk it through honestly and help you work out the best next step.
