Welcome to Wraysbury House

Wraysbury House is an independent private care home, specialising in Dementia and Residential Care, set in a conservation area of Worthing West Sussex, with its own ornate gardens and surrounded by mature trees in a leafy suburb of West Worthing , within a few minutes’ walk from Worthing Beach and town centre, providing a beautiful setting for our residents to make themselves a home away from home.

We have up to 30 residents at a time, each in their own ensuite bedrooms, which are decorated and furnished to the highest standard. Each room can be personalised to the residents wishes. Every room is monitored for safety and for their daily needs by our nurse call systems. All rooms can be easily accessed by a passenger lift leading to all three floors of the home.

We believe that Person Centred Care is fundamental to the quality of care we deliver at Wraysbury House. We take great efforts in making sure each resident’s care is tailored precisely to their needs and desires in living a healthy life within the home.

An essential part of our care is to ensure our residents medical needs and personal aspirations are met.  We make sure we are aware of each individuals personal history: the pastimes they enjoy, their personal stories they love , and the enjoyments in life they wish to re-visit.

We have several Activity Coordinators who create programmes for daily activities for each resident, including. (Please check our activities tab for more information)

Wraybury House has a dedicated hair salon for men and women within the building

Reminiscence Library

We encourage our residents to reminisce and we have created a dedicated library for every resident to enjoy, separate from the main living rooms and reception rooms. A resident can share experiences and achievements with the help of photographs and memorabilia supplied by friends and relative.  We have extensive books and online materials which can be accessed via the homes iPad tablets.  Reminisce between residents and staff encourages the wellbeing of all involved and helps give Wraysbury House a homely feel. The library regularly updates its content and has novels and great works as well as lighter materials, daily newspapers, magazines and a DVD library.

Ornate Gardens and Outdoor Amenities

Our beautiful ornate landscaped gardens include water features, a summer house, patio area, gazebo seating, topiary hedges with garden statues, raised beds for the flowers and vegetable patches. In addition, we have a wonderful outdoor dining area and seating. Relaxing paths for light afternoon strolls around the grounds, where our residents can feed the birds at our bird feeding station by the gazebo. The garden has step free access and can be used by wheelchairs comfortably. We encourage our residents to spend time in the garden whenever they wish, and our team of gardeners and care staff are always happy to take advice from our resident green fingered experts.

Grand Lounge

We have a beautiful grand lounge, where residents can socialise, read a paper partake in the ongoing activities, or simply watch a movie or tv show, which leads to the air conditioned sunroom. The lounges have comfortable chairs positioned in small groups to allow for conversation and activities. The Grande Lounge is utilised on special occasions an event room for incoming entertainers and theatre shows.

 Sun Room

The Sun Room a large glazed room overlooking the ornate gardens and extending to both Reminiscence library and Dining rooms.

Furnished with soft furnishings and communal seating and occasional tables for private dining by the residents this room also benefits from dedicated air conditioning and dressed with coloured drop down shades, allowing the room to be pleasant in all seasons.
